Autumn 1989 saw the return of the Zap Club’s performance programme. There were international performances from Heather Woodbury, the New Yorker who founded the Interarts Cabaret café and Bustelo & Konnektor RT, a Hungarian group claiming to combine “music, film, poetry and performance in a bizarre and exciting ritual”.

Then there were more home grown performances from Brighton based dance theatre group, the Divas; Heathcote Williams reading his new poem 'Sacred Elephant' and Theatre Complicite which presented Tim Barlow in ?My Army - Part One’.

On the music front, Edwyn Collins returned with his unique blend of pop influenced melodies and wry lyricism while Scottish band, The Shamen presented their ?Synergy’ show, a four hour experience including lasers and the decks of DJ Fast Eddie.
