Zappette Club
During its temporary residency at the Richmond pub (while intense building of a new permanent venue was underway on the seafront) the local Zap Club became known as the Zappette Club. As Neil Butler explained in a flyer the Zap Club was touring in Holland and London, which prevented it from having a weekend club in Brighton. Hence, the Zappette’ a Wednesday night show to keep local audiences happy. This started on 1 February and featured Sergeant Stone’s adult Punch and Judy show.
