The Lazy Kings

6 - 8 May

10th Streets of Brighton
The tenth anniversary of the Streets of Brighton attracted an estimated 100,000 people, with the largest single crowd of approximately 20,000 attending the open-air finale of The Lazy Kings’.

This was a world premiere created by Transe Express, one of France’s most renowned street art organisers. Based on a classic French fairy tale, it told the story of six idle monarchs through three chariot processions around the city. These parades involved 150 local volunteers and 50 French volunteers and led to a spectacular acrobatic and musical finale around a 30m mechanical palm tree in Preston Park.
