Cybercafé

1995

January
Zap Club, Brighton

Cybercafé
In January Richard Paul Jones started the Zap Cybercafé, which while not the first to open (it was second to London’s Cyberia), was the first to close, a pattern followed by countless others since.

At the time it was described as “Brighton’s newest, strangest, high performance electronic club night, stationed in Cyberspace”. It specialised in high tech innovations and bizarre performance, complete with DJs playing music specially produced from the Internet.
