Live Art Performance Festival

1987

2 – 7 February
Brighton Polytechnic, Brighton

Live Art Performance Festival
The Zap Club and Brighton Polytechnic produced a festival of performance art to mark a longstanding collaboration between the two organisations dating back to 1977, when Neil Butler co-directed the Brighton Contemporary Festival of Arts.

1987’s event celebrated the extraordinary rosta of professional performers who had emerged through the Polytechnic and the club. These included Women with Beards, Theatre of the Bleeding Obelisk, The Wild Wigglers, Steve Edgar, Ian Smith, Roy Hutchins, Open Secret, Roy Bayfield and Anne Seagrave.
