6th Streets of London

1998

28 June – 19 September
London Boroughs

6th Streets of London
The sixth Streets of London opened during the Canary Wharf Motor Show on 28 June with a programme promoting the very best in street arts from the UK, two UK premieres of international companies and seven new commissions courtesy of the National Street Arts Festival in collaboration with various partners.

All of these were presented during the Covent Garden street theatre festival in September, although some premiered earlier in co-commissioning cities, whilst others went on to be performed in other festivals supported by the National Street Arts Festival. One of the main benefits of a festival joining the programme was it had the opportunity to stage exciting new shows without having to fund their development from scratch.
